Supporting Professionalism in Education
The Association of American Educators Foundation is an IRS recognized 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization. The Foundation was established to support the activities of the Association of American Educators – a professional teachers association. The stated purpose of the Foundation is to provide the public and public schoolteachers with educational information to help reform and improve the education of America’s youth.
Support our work by donating to the AAE Foundation
Of the many activities that the Foundation engages in, one of the most important is to provide forums whereby teachers, parents and other members of the public can become aware of the operational strengths and weaknesses of the American school system from the point of view of educators and others who can be considered “insiders.” To accomplish this task, the Foundation conducts workshops and symposia where teachers and members of the public may exchange information relative to improving our education system. Topics addressed provide the opportunity for critical thinking regarding the need to change a static system that at present is not serving our nation’s teachers and students well.
In addition to conducting professional development seminars for teachers, and public symposia, the Foundation supplements its educational and charitable activities through the dissemination of a periodical (Education Matters) to teachers, interested public, and supporters.
In an effort to encourage professionalism in our public education system, the Foundation provides scholarships and grants to worthy teachers. These grants are provided primarily to student teachers, to mentors of student teachers, and to educators who demonstrate unique expertise in advancing professionalism in their classrooms. In addition, the Foundation makes grants to other charitable and educational organizations that have similar purposes, goals and activities of the Association of American Educators.
The AAE Foundation has received contributions from a grassroots cadre of concerned teachers, parents, public and family foundations and business leaders who resonate with the work being advanced by the AAE. We hope you will also consider supporting our efforts to restore the American educational system to its once envied place as the best in the world.
