Donors Choose

Each year, the Association of American Educators Foundation gives away thousands of dollars in scholarships and grants across the country as part of our mission to help teachers in their professional journey. In recent years, we've seen the demands for our grants grow. School districts across the country are cutting funds that teachers used to be able to rely on for additional projects.

Unfortunately, demand for our classroom grants have outstripped our ability to provide them. We'd love to give funds to every teacher who applied for a grant, but we lack the ability to do so. Fortunately, teachers have other places they can look to for funding and we remain dedicated to helping them find the funding that they need.

One of the premier sources of funding that teachers can turn to is DonorsChoose.org. DonorsChoose.org was started in 2000 by school teacher Charles Best. Through DonorsChoose.org, teachers are able to publicize their needs. Others are able to log on and donate directly to that teacher or project.

DonorsChoose.org does a great job of verifying that teachers with true needs get funding, and at AAE, we feel that it is one of the best sites out there for teachers to receive funding. Since we can't fund as many grants as we'd like, we're dedicated to helping our teachers using this site to find the funds that they need.

If you're an AAE member that already has a project on this site let us know by emailing awards@aaeteachers.org, and we'll help you get the word out - we'll even donate funds to the first five that notify us of their projects. If you're an AAE member that hasn't used DonorsChoose.org in the past, or are not currently using it, and are looking for funding, we encourage you to check it out. If you decide to start a project, let us know and we'll help you as well.

Much luck!
