Student Sent Home for Wearing Colts Jersey

A New Orleans high school student and Louisiana Army National Guard recruit was sent home for wearing an Indianapolis Colts jersey to school on "Black-and-Gold Day." The ACLU of Louisiana has cried foul. According to The Advocate, the student was not sent home for his own safety (a plausible excuse) but simply because he disobeyed the special "black and gold" dispensation of the school uniform.

The student can't be blamed for being disloyal—he wore the jersey of Colts' running back Joseph Addai, who helped the 2003 LSU Tigers bring the first BCS championship to the school in over 40 years. Louisiana pride indeed. Seems his only mistake was not spray painting his blue-and-white Colts' jersey to oblige the "black and gold" requirement.
