Rebecca Friedrichs, a California public school teacher and lead plaintiff in Friedrichs v. California Teachers Association, wrote an opinion piece about Teacher Appreciation Week and the unions’ impact on the teaching profession. Her ideas reflect changing sentiments among educators and the call for options: Most of us can recall loving teachers whose affirmations and careful instruction powerfully impacted our lives. In celebration of their influence, this week is Teacher Appreciation Week in America. Click here to read Friedrich’s full opinion piece on the Fox News website. Many thanks to Ms. Friedrich for her courage to stand up for what she believes in. There are thousands of teachers who don’t agree with the politics and tactics of the teacher labor unions. Stay informed, understand your rights, and consider AAE and the non-union option. What do you think about Ms. Friedrich’s op-ed? Does it represent your views? Comment below.
