Member Spotlight: How Allyson White's AAE Classroom Grant Made the Difference
posted by: Alana | November 08, 2016, 08:12 PM

Considering applying for an AAE Teacher Scholarship or Classroom Grant but not sure how to put your ideas on paper? Here's an example of a past winner whose award made all the difference for her students.

Ms. Allyson White won her AAE Classroom Grant in the Fall of 2016 to furnish her classroom with special seating options. Here's what she had to share with AAE about the difference this award made for her students:
"My students will gain a lot from this grant since it's ultimately them who will be using the stools in the classroom.
I have several students that need to move to think and focus so it's important to provide seating options for those that need to get out that energy.

Thanks to AAE's grant, my students will have that that option.
I originally learned of AAE's grant opportunity when it was shared at a faculty meeting. The faculty was very open to alternate seating options and is excited about AAE's grant opportunities."

We're excited to announce the winners of the Spring 2016 award cycle in the coming weeks and to celebrate so many bright and driven educators from coast to coast. Stay tuned to find out who our winners!

Miss the deadline for this award cycle? That's okay! It's never too early to apply for the next cycle. Visit aaeteachers.org/awards to apply today!
