New Year’s Resolutions (yours and theirs)
posted by: Jill | December 29, 2010, 03:13 PM

Want to improve? Now is the time to do it; the New Year is almost here. Join the crowd and set a New Year’s resolution for your profession. Better yet, take a few minutes and share a mini- lesson with your students about the importance of goal-setting. Have them set a few goals for school or even just your class. Use the goals throughout the semester or the rest of the school year as motivation. Don’t forget to have them check-up on your progress too!

Here is a potpourri of New Year's resolution websites from previous years (lessons, teacher goals, poems). What catches your eye?

New Year’s Resolutions by Bruce Lansky

Regarding myself, I have one major professional goal for next semester's Spanish class-- differentiate more strategies for my students' lessons so that I meet their individual needs. Happy New Year and good luck!

What are some of your New Year's goals?

My New Year's Resolution is to smile more often in class. The kids are cute (7th graders); I love my job; my subject is the bomb (math). So what's not to be happy about?
