Green Schools: Worthy Investment?

According to a report issued last week by the American Institute of Architects and the U.S. Green Building Council, "green schools" are not only better for students, teachers, and the environment, but are also benefiting the bottom line. At a time when districts everywhere are facing major budget shortfalls, saving money while teaching students about the environment may be a welcome addition to schools across the country. Chiefs for Change Issue NCLB Roadmap

Last week, the "Chiefs for Change" education advocacy coalition released their roadmap for reauthorization of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, commonly known as No Child Left Behind. National Center for Education Statistics Releases Annual Report

The National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), the data arm of the Department of Education, today released their annual report entitled, The Condition of Education, meant to summarize important developments and trends in education using the latest available state and federal statistics. The congressionally mandated report is considered a snapshot of education trends across the country and is used by policymakers to determine current patterns and understand educational populations.
