Association of American Educators Signed on to Fourth Annual National School Choice Week: Nationwide Events Held Across the Country

Alexandria, VA – The Association of American Educators (AAE), the largest, national non-union teachers organization, was pleased to once again sign on to National School Choice Week in 2014. As part of the association's continued efforts to support educators in all education settings, AAE partnered with grassroots organizations and coalitions across the country to celebrate teachers in 18 events throughout the week in states including Arkansas, Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Utah, Wisconsin.

The events varied from small and intimate gatherings of AAE members and local leaders, to large meetings welcoming educators, legislators, and community members from across the state.

"National School Choice Week 2014 was a great success for AAE and our state chapters," said AAE Executive Director Gary Beckner. "By shining a spotlight on options for teachers including, charter, virtual, and parochial schools, we've been able to inform the public and engage teachers in a discussion about the benefits of school choice for not only students– but classroom educators."

The Association of American Educators (AAE) is the largest national, non-union, professional educator's organization, advancing the profession by offering a modern approach to teacher representation and educational advocacy, as well as promoting professionalism, collaboration and excellence without a partisan agenda. AAE members are forward-thinking professionals who are committed to student-centered reform efforts including school/teacher choice, accountability and technology. AAE has members in all 50 states and welcomes professionals from all education entities. Membership is $15 per month which includes $2 million professional liability insurance, employment rights coverage, professional development resources as well as a host of other benefits.
