Cathy DeMoisey

Executive Director, Professional Educators Network of Florida

Cathy DeMoisey serves as the Executive Director of the Professional Educators Network of Florida (PEN), a state chapter of the Association of American Educators (AAE).

Cathy DeMoisey served as Executive Director and co-founder of The Professional Educators Network of Florida (PEN) for nearly 30 years, dedicating her career to supporting and empowering educators across the state. A native of the Virginia mountains, Cathy moved to Florida with her husband and two children in 1987. Soon after, she helped establish PEN and PEN Foundation, leading with a vision to provide teachers a choice with professional, affordable, and practical support.

Throughout her tenure, Cathy has been committed to strengthening Florida’s education community by expanding membership services, building strong advocacy programs, and fostering professional growth opportunities for educators.

Cathy is now honored to take on a new chapter as the Florida State Director for the newly merged PEN–AAE, where she looks forward to combining the strengths of both organizations to serve Florida’s teachers with even greater impact.

Cathy’s passion for education was shaped by her favorite teacher, Mr. Carnes, her 8th-grade American History teacher. He made history come alive and showed her that learning could be a joy—an influence that continues to guide her work in supporting educators today.
