New Common Core Resources Released
posted by: Melissa | April 24, 2013, 06:41 PM

In recent weeks the controversy surrounding the Common Core State Standards has grown, with the Republican Party officially taking a stance against it and liberal commentators have criticized it, but implementation continues.

AAE members remain divided on whether Common Core is effective or detrimental, but with 90% of them in states where CCSS is being implemented, AAE is dedicated to helping teachers find the resources that they need in order to be as successful as possible. Thankfully, more and more resources are coming online to help teachers do just that.

Some resources recently made available include the open education resources (OER) introduced by the National Math and Science Initiative (NMSI). NMSI worked with the PARCC assessment consortium in the preparation of these materials, so that makes them especially useful in the 22 states that are part of the PARCC consortium.

Among the materials released are PARCC updates, curriculum tools, instructional resources, lesson plans materials for teaching with diverse student populations, and materials that are aimed at educators involved in administrative duties or working in higher education.

You can access these resources here. After creating a free profile, you'll have unlimited access to all of the resources along with the lesson plans they are planning to unveil in the near future.
