posted by: Melissa | December 11, 2015, 02:25 PM

Today, we are pleased to announce AAE’s Wisconsin Teacher Scholarship and Classroom Grant award winners for the fall of 2015.  These 15 teachers embody our core values with their dedication to the field and innovative initiatives.  We couldn’t have chosen better!

The Association of American Educators Foundation is committed to offering individual educators various avenues for improving their effectiveness and student outcomes. The teacher scholarships provide teachers with funding to pursue additional teacher trainings, attend workshops, or specialized conferences. The classroom grants are offered to educators to supplement the costs of student-focused projects or activities. Both awards are available to all educators, regardless of location, school, or membership status.

The fall 2015 winners are as follows:

Alexander Kayser from SC Johnson Elementary in Racine is attending the Wisconsin State Music Convention.

Emily Skeels from Community Elementary School in Edgerton is replacing her old and worn out marker boards.

Heather Lawrence from Brodhead Middle and High Schools is purchasing library books in Spanish

Jennifer Garin from Lake View Technology Academy High in Pleasant Prairie is helping her students create an outdoors learning environment.

Jennifer Johnson from Woodworth Middle School in Fond du Lac is taking her students to see a play.

Joan Meeder from Three Lakes School in Three Lakes is adding a certification in art.

Kirk Cunningham from St. Charles DTC in Milwaukee is purchasing math manipulatives to help empower student achievement.

Laura Briese from Washington Middle School in Green Bay is purchasing school supplies for students in need.

Terry Svihovec from Menomonie High School in Menomonie is purchasing Chromebooks for math assignments.

Trent Rasmussen from Johnson Creek Middle School in Johnson Creek is purchasing a tablet for digital classroom creations.

Congratulations, teachers! Thanks to all who applied but were not selected to receive a scholarship or grant in this spring competition. The AAE Foundation Wisconsin Teacher Scholarship and Grant Program is held twice a year in the fall and spring. Please consider applying for the next round of scholarships and grants. The deadline for the upcoming spring competition is March 1, 2016.
