Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013, 2 to 3 p.m. ET. Education Week: Common Assessments: What You Need to Know. Using $360 million in Race to the Top money, two large groups of states are designing assessment systems for the common standards that have been adopted by 44 states and the District of Columbia. This webinar will provide a briefing on the two groups’ distinctively different test designs and the range of instructional tools they’re planning.

Education Week: Bringing Common Standards Indo the Classroom This webinar will let participants in on the approaches that two districts—Hillsborough County, Florida and Cleveland —are taking as they work to educate teachers about the Common Core State Standards and turn them into new types of teaching and learning.

Various ASCD Common Core Institutes These one day conferences are held in a variety of different locations and dates.  They will introduce strategies and plans for determining readiness, curriculum and assessment tools, and instructional strategies for key concepts for English language arts and math standards. Participants will examine their current status and review and develop ongoing plans to assure alignment between curriculum and assessment and ensure teacher preparation for full implementation.
