Association of American Educators Celebrates National School Choice Week 2021

Mission Viejo, CA – The Association of American Educators (AAE), a national, nonunion, professional association serving educators in all fifty states, celebrates the nation’s growing support for all school types as we kick off National School Choice Week (NSCW) January 24-30, 2021. AAE joins this annual national celebration of the choices available to educators, parents, and students, including public district, public magnet, public charter, independent, parochial, private, and home schooling.

“The pandemic has shone a light on growing recognition that one size and one type of school does not fit all needs and that parents, educators, and students are demanding options,” noted AAE’s executive director Colin Sharkey. “Educators across the country are celebrating the choices they have in selecting the school setting that will allow them to fully realize their mission to serve students. And we applaud their resilience, creativity, and dedication to maintaining educational rigor during this school year of transitions and uncertainty.”

AAE serves teachers, school staff, administrators, professors, and support staff in all school types throughout the country. Due to the health and safety restrictions in compliance with CDC guidelines, this year’s NSCW celebrations are virtual. AAE staff and members across the country will host and participate in online events, panel discussions, social media awareness campaigns, photo and art contests, and car parades throughout the week, spotlighting school successes and the diverse educational opportunities that school choice offers every single learner in the country.
