Alexandria, VA – The Association of American Educators (AAE), a national non-union, professional association serving educators in all fifty states, is celebrating Teacher Appreciation Week 2019 (May 6-May 10) with events at schools throughout the nation. AAE staff and member leaders will be delivering cookies, coffee, donuts, bagels, cakes, thank you notes, gifts, and hugs to member and non-member educators in public district, public charter, parochial, and private schools across the country.

“We at AAE are honored to celebrate the millions of educators serving the students attending our nation’s public schools,” said AAE Executive Director Colin Sharkey. “As a proud product of great public schools I am especially pleased about this opportunity to highlight the tremendous dedication and professionalism we witness daily in our neighborhood public schools.”

AAE staff and members will host events and activities in schools and communities nationwide in recognition of Public Schools Week 2020. AAE’s membership includes tens of thousands of public school teachers, administrators, and staff. In recent years AAE Foundation has awarded hundreds of thousands of dollars to public school educators to support their continuing education, innovative classroom projects, and areas of highest need.
