New Partnership Announced Between the Association of American Educators and the Associated Professional Educators of Louisiana

Alexandria, VA– The Association of American Educators (AAE) and the Associated Professional Educators of Louisiana (A+PEL) are proud to announce a new partnership to more effectively support Louisiana's dedicated educators. This formal partnership will bring A+PEL members into the larger non-union teacher movement at a time when support for commonsense education reform and educator options is stronger than ever.

"We are pleased to partner with A+PEL to provide a national voice to Louisiana's hardworking professional educators," said AAE Executive Director Gary Beckner. "This partnership is a critical step in giving both organizations the tools to better serve teachers in Louisiana and on the national level."

Through this partnership, AAE and A+PEL staff will work together on projects ranging from membership growth and retention, to professional development, and national educator advocacy. As the professional educator movement continues to grow, the non-union network greatly benefits from the knowledge, expertise and broad range of services provided by state organizations.

"Educators need a united policy voice on supporting and advancing commonsense education reform," continued Beckner. "AAE's partnership with A+PEL strengthens our national movement and allows for localized presence that meets the needs of teachers."

AAE's partnership with A+PEL is the latest in a series of formal partnerships with state-based, non-union organizations. AAE also has state chapters in Arkansas, Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Oregon, and Washington. Alongside unmatched professional benefits, AAE's services and national vision for educators continues to resonate with the education community nationwide.

A+PEL Executive Director Polly Broussard praised the partnership, stating, "Our formal alignment with AAE allows us to expand our level of support for our teachers across the state. We are thrilled to expand our network of resources for both our staff and member educators."
