AAE Foundation Announces Teacher Scholarship and Classroom Grant Opportunity for All Educators

Mission Viejo, CA – The Association of American Educators Foundation (AAEF), a 501(c)(3) organization supporting the mission of the Association of American Educators (AAE), a national, non-union, professional association serving educators in all fifty states, announces today it is accepting teacher scholarship and classroom grant proposals from K-12 professional educators. This scholarship and grant program serves to advance the teaching profession and is open to all educators.

The AAEF Teacher Scholarship and Classroom Grant Program has awarded hundreds of thousands of dollars to educators across the country. This bi-annual competitive program, with deadlines in October and March, helps teachers explore professional development opportunities and secure materials for innovative classroom projects and activities through $500 awards.

“As educators continue to face challenges associated with yet another school year affected by the pandemic, supporting their classroom needs and facilitating their professional development goals are more important than ever,” said AAEF Executive Director Colin Sharkey. “This vital program represents the AAE dual mission of advancing the profession for all educators and endorsing student-focused decision making for the nation’s children.”

“The on-going impact of the AAEF Teacher Scholarship and Classroom Grant Program is deeply gratifying,” noted Senior Professional Programs Manager Melissa Pratt, who manages the program. “The increased interest in content, materials, and training that address students’ emotional and mental well-being is representative of how dedicated our educators are to ensuring that their students’ readiness to learn is addressed in a multitude of new ways.”

Teacher scholarships and classroom grants can be applied to conference attendance, workshops, fellowships, online training, books, software, lab materials, art supplies, adaptive materials, and many other expenditures including those related to in-classroom and hybrid learning. The application is available at aaeteachers.org/awards and the submission deadline is 11:59 PM ET Friday, October 1, 2021.

The Association of American Educators (AAE) is the largest national, nonunion, professional educator organization, advancing the profession by offering a modern approach to educator empowerment and advocacy—promoting professionalism, collaboration, and excellence without a partisan agenda.
