AAE Recognizes Teacher Appreciation Week

Alexandria, VA– It's Teacher Appreciation Week (May 5-11, 2013) and around the country thousands of communities are honoring local teachers and acknowledging the crucial role they play in making sure every student receives a quality education.

In honor of this important week, Association of American Educators Executive Director Gary Beckner released the following statement:

"Everyone can pinpoint a remarkable teacher who made a considerable impact on their lives – both academically and personally. During National Teacher Appreciation Week, we encourage stakeholders across the country to celebrate educators who change lives, ignite passions, and set positive examples everyday for their students. The Association of American Educators commends teachers who give their lives to their students. Your work is not forgotten and is greatly appreciated!

At AAE we know that a student's educational achievements largely rest on the shoulders of quality teachers. As a member-driven organization, AAE understands the unique demands made on today's educators. We offer teachers across the country earnest appreciation for placing the education of children before their own interests. Our hope is that Americans everywhere recognize those teachers whose efforts mean so much."
