Innovation Station: Pets in the Classroom

Have you ever had a pet in your classroom? Are you considering one for your classroom this year? Back-to-school time may be the perfect opportunity to give consideration to such a rewarding undertaking!

 

 

Whether you’re a math teacher who wants to teach students about budgeting, a science teacher who wants to educate their students on health and wellness, or an English teacher looking to build reading confidence in your students, pets are a great way to breathe life into a sometimes gloomy or mundane classroom!

 

Pets in the classroom can be not only innovative resources, but they can even be very therapeutic to students who wouldn’t otherwise get to experience the joys of a pet at home.

What about funding? Pets in the Classroom is currently accepting applications, and AAE’s Teacher Scholarships and Classroom Grants deadline is also quickly approaching. Consider applying today!

 

The AAE Foundation provides thousands of dollars annually in teacher scholarships and classroom grants, specifically designed to help advance continuing education and student achievement. All educators are eligible to apply to the National Scholarships and Grants Program, however AAE members receive additional weight in the scoring rubric. Click here to apply.
