‘When Can We Go to School?’ Nearly 300 Million Children Are Missing Class - According to the United Nations, the global scale and speed of the educational disruption due to the Coronavirus is “unparalleled.” The educational disruption is affecting nearly 300 million students globally, including K-12 and higher education students. Students across the globe are being affected, some for just a few days and others for weeks. Many school districts have extended spring break vacations and announced plans to move classes online. Bill would limit screen time for public school kids - Minnesota lawmakers are deciding on new legislation that would limit screen time for public school students. Ohio lawmakers move to ban for-profit charter school operators - Ohio is made up of 178 charter schools that contract with a for-profit operator that would all have to switch to a nonprofit or close if a bipartisan bill introduced this week becomes law.
