Coronavirus Response and Resources
posted by: Colin | March 17, 2020, 08:38 PM

The nation is responding to the Coronavirus pandemic and this includes school closures in most states. We understand that what you and your students are experiencing is disruptive, frustrating, confusing, and frightening. Thank you for the patience and professionalism I know you are demonstrating for your colleagues and for your students.

AAE Status and Services

AAE is open and will continue to provide member and legal services. We have had to close physical offices to comply with containment efforts and have postponed a number of presentations, summits, and conferences for the safety of our members and the public. We will work to make opportunities available online to serve you regarding legal support, stress management, and educator collaboration.

News and Updates

One way to follow news and services from AAE is by following us on social media. You can find us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

Resources for Educators

We know that the past few days have been a flood of information on many topics concerning the pandemic and the government response. Our team has created and is continuing to update The Big List of Resources for Educators During School Closures to provide the materials, tools, ideas, and engagement opportunities to help you serve your students. Every day, we add new content, so you’ll want to check back often.

Your Legal Rights

Finally, we’ve been fielding questions from educators about their legal rights during this time. Our Senior Director of Legal Services has created a Legal Rights Summary & FAQs. We are monitoring and responding to educator rights issues and will update the FAQ on a regular basis.

Coronavirus Survey

We would like to thank the educators who took the time out to inform us about how you and your school are responding to the school closures. Results from the AAE COVID-19 Educator Survey can be viewed here.

Thank you for everything you do for our students. Stay safe.
