Association of American Educators Celebrates National School Choice Week 2022
Mission Viejo, CA – The Association of American Educators (AAE), a national, nonunion, professional association serving educators in all fifty states, celebrates the nation’s support for all school types as we kick off National School Choice Week (NSCW) January 23-29, 2022. AAE celebrates the many excellent educational options across the nation and the policies that advance the availability of school choice for students and educators. AAE joins this annual national celebration of the choices available to educators, parents, and students, including public district, public magnet, public charter, independent, parochial, private, online, and home schooling.
“It is evident the groundswell of interest and support for school choice that escalated early in the pandemic has proved to be no temporary trend or emergency bandage. The data indicates the numbers are large and the impact on our education system is likely to be long-lasting and profound,” stated AAE’s executive director Colin Sharkey. “Public charter schools alone, saw a seven percent increase in student registration in 2021. Educators too, are embracing school choice for their careers, recognizing that their mission of providing all learners the best education, now offers many excellent education settings for them to achieve that goal.”
AAE serves teachers, school staff, administrators, professors, and support staff in all school types throughout the country. AAE staff and members will host and participate in a variety of events such as school choice fairs, panel discussions, social media awareness campaigns, and photo and art contests, spotlighting school successes and the diverse educational opportunities that school choice offers every educator and student in the country.
