Gary Beckner 1946-2021

Founder, Chairman, and President Emeritus, Association of American Educators and AAE Foundation

On January 26, Gary Beckner, founder and chairman of the Association of American Educators, passed away due to complications from COVID-19. He is survived by his wife and AAE co-founder, Piete, their sons and daughters-in-law, and cherished grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by his staff, fellow board members, and tens of thousands of AAE members throughout the country. His legacy lives on in the mission and service of the organizations he founded.

In lieu of flowers the Beckner family has suggested contributions to honor Gary's legacy of serving educators and students.

The Association of American Educators Foundation (Federal EIN 33-0623003) has created and will manage the Gary Beckner Fund.

Funds raised in memory of Gary Beckner will continue his legacy through grants and scholarships to educators, schools, music programs, and students nationwide. 100% of contributions will go to grant and scholarship awardees.

The Association of American Educators Foundation is a 501(c)(3) that promotes and assists educators and administrators in pursuing excellence in primary and secondary education. 100% of contributions made in honor of Gary Beckner will be awarded to educators, students, music programs, and schools throughout the country.
