Top 19 Teacher Discounts for Back to School

Back-to-school shopping can be a real pain for teachers if you’re not sure where the deals are.  Sure, every teacher knows to buy as much at the Dollar Store or seek out deals at Costco.  The good news is that there are secret deals at other stores for you, too!  As you do your back-to-school shopping, remember these deals:

Books

  • Barnes and Noble: if you join the B&N Educator program, get 20% off the list price and 25% off during Educator appreciation days.
  • Books-a-Million will take 20% off your purchase if you fill out the application for their Educator’s Discount Program and present a valid educator identification card.
Clothing
  • Ann Taylor Loft… Wow, the Loft Loves Teachers!  Take 15% off your purchases, anticipate teacher appreciation nights, and participate in exclusive sweepstakes just for teachers.
  • At Banana Republic, show them your valid teacher ID and take 15% off of your purchase.
  • Eddie Bauer provides Pro Deals for professional guides, instructors, or competitive athletes in the outdoor industry.
  • Show your valid school ID at J.Crew and get 15% off any in-store purchase.
  • New York & Company offers a Big Apple for the Teacher program that gives you 15% off any in-store purchase if you show your ID at the register.

Supplies

  • Need teacher stamps?  Check out the variety of teacher stamp templates on Simply Stamps.  These are a wonderful way to save time in the classroom, and they come in multiple sizes and styles.  AAE members can take 20% off the purchase price when the code AAETEACH is used at the time of purchase.
  • Big Lots has discounts for teachers on Teacher Appreciation Day, which is August 11, 2012.
  • After you fill this form out, you will receive discounts for the Container Store.
  • JoAnn Fabrics shows love to teachers through the Teacher Rewards Program.  Get 15% off every purchase you make when you sign up for the program.  They’re also taking 25% off your purchases on Teacher Appreciation Days, August 11 and 12.
  • Office Depot features the Star Teacher Program, which gets you 10% back in rewards and 15% off of copy and print orders.
  • If you join the MaxPerks Rewards for Teachers program at Office Max, you’ll get a $10 reward for every $75 you spend.
  • Staples has a Staples Teacher Rewards program where you can get 10% back in Rewards on ink and toner, paper, and copy and print purchases.  You’ll also get another 10% back in Rewards on teaching and art supplies.

Weight Crafters is a residential fitness and weight loss camp owned and operated by a former USMC Instructor. They offer a 5% discount for teachers and educators. This discount stacks on top of whatever sale or promotion they’re running. Worth checking out.

Since the merge with Office Max, Office Depot no longer allows teachers to purchase a larger number of sale items than the general public :(

Many Office Depot stores have a Star Teacher discount of around 10% and have a teacher day coming up soon where teachers can get free teacher supplies and additional coupons. I got a free lamenating machine last year by going to their teacher breakfast.

Apple also offers teacher discounts. If you're school is not already registered, it's easy to do so. They offer a variety of specials, sales, freebies and discounts. It depends what they're running when you call.
